Sing a Song About Swans

Down in Colorado Springs, Colorado, sits a hotel with great historical significance. The Broadmoor Hotel has a legendary history. Many books and documentaries have been made about it. And at the center sits a beautiful lake, backdropped by Colorado foothills. And on that lake, swam a swan.

Now, I didn’t take the photograph. Cherish did. It was a fantastic photo. And while my work has been shifting into a more stylized look, it’s always good to go back to the basics of strong realism as an exercise, and that’s what I did with this piece. I cannot tell you how all this came together, only that it did and surprised even me.

By popular demand, some have asked if this is available. The answer, of course, is yes! It is available as a print, as a card, and the original is also still available. You can find them on the website, or the buttons should be below.

I’m also thinking about publishing this as a poster with a Henry David Thoreau quote on it. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
