Sometimes the Class Demo Turns Out Alright
One of the requirements of being an Art Instructor, is that you must possess enough confidence to create art in front of a learning audience… and hope to everything you don’t mess up. Fortunately for me, performance has never been an issue, my years as a chalk artist should have proven that.
Most demos are meh at best, as talking while painting, believe it or not, is a very challenging thing (it’s a pat your head, rub your belly kind of thing). However, every once in a while, a class demo explodes even my own expectations, and to get two in a row is an even more spectacular thing.

The interesting thing about both these demos is that they feature Colorado Landscapes. I actually went to a park in Denver, sat before this cluster of trees, and taught my class how to paint in the environment. In a seperate class, we painting this scene at the base of Crested Butte, Colorado. Maybe it’s my love for the outdoors. Maybe it’s my love for Colorado. Whatever it is, these pieces are inspired.

As always, the originals of these are for sale, that’s how I can keep the lights on. Regardless, I hope you are able to enjoy these environments as much as I do.
